Encounter Jesus. Join His Church.

Whether you’re curious, seeking, or already believe, OCIA is your path into the heart of Catholic life—through encounter, conversion, and community.
We all need a small circle of friends with whom we can share our faith, in order to grow in our faith.
- Bishop Edward Malesic, A Flourishing Apostolic Church

What is OCIA?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is how adults and older children enter full communion with the Catholic Church. It’s not a class; it’s a life-changing spiritual apprenticeship.
1.

Inquiry (Precatechumenate)

This is your open-door invitation. Ask questions. Share doubts. Learn in a caring, conversational setting. No pressure—just honest exploration.
You don’t need a theology degree. All you need is a willing and open heart.
2.

Catechumenate

When you’re ready, we celebrate your intention publicly. You’ll join us each Sunday for Mass, listen to God’s Word, and continue growing in small group conversations and prayer. We journey together in community and discipleship.
3.

Purification & Enlightenment

During Lent, we enter deeper prayer, retreat, and preparation. New catechumens receive Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil (generally a day in April). It’s a powerful encounter with Christ’s resurrected life!
4.

Mystagogy

After Easter, we continue to reflect and live out what we’ve received: understanding how the sacraments shape us as Christ’s Body and send us on mission.

Timeline & Commitment

OCIA is typically an 8–18 month journey. Each phase builds in spiritual depth and community connection and is flexible around your life’s commitments.

Why OCIA Matters

This is more than learning—it’s a spiritual rebirth. It’s responding to God’s invitation to know Him, grow in communion, and serve His mission.
