Encounters with the Living Christ

Sacraments aren’t empty rituals. They are real, life-changing encounters with Jesus.
Strive for that deep and personal relationship that Jesus wants to have with you. If you are reading this and are not yet going regularly to Sunday Mass, or if you haven’t been to Confession in a while, I encourage you, “Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call upon him while he is near” (Is. 55:6).
- Bishop Edward Malesic, A Flourishing Apostolic Church

God didn’t remain distant.

God came close in the person of Jesus Christ. And through the Sacraments, He continues to draw near.
These sacred moments aren’t symbolic. They’re real, grace-filled encounters with the risen Lord who still heals, forgives, feeds, and sends
Sacraments are “efficacious signs of grace” which means they don’t just point to God’s love; they deliver it.
In water, oil, bread, and word, we encounter and receive Christ himself. And He changes everything.
The Sacraments are the lifeblood of our parish. They nourish us at the beginning of life, sustain us through joy and suffering, and form us as disciples on mission.
We invite you to rediscover the Sacraments not as obligations, but as invitations.
Come to the water. Return to mercy. Receive His Body. Be sealed in the Spirit.
Let Jesus meet you and renew you.

A Parish That Lives the Sacraments

We are not spectators. We are a community of disciples, formed by the sacraments and sent to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed.
Let grace meet you here. Let Jesus meet you here.
We’re ready to walk with you.

We’re the Avon Catholic Community.

No matter where you’ve been, there’s a place for you here. A place to encounter God. A place to be known and loved. A place to grow in faith.
